"Chapter 27" (R)
On
December 8, 1980 Mark David Chapman shocked the world by murdering the
beloved purveyor of peace, 40-year old musician and activist, John
Lennon, outside The Dakota, his New York apartment building.
Chapman’s motives were fabricated from pure delusion, fueled by
an obsession with the fictional character Holden Caulfield and his
similar misadventures in J.D. Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye. In
one instant, an anonymous, 25-year old, mentally unstable, socially
awkward Beatles fan--who had fluctuated between idealizing Lennon and
being overcome with a desire to kill him--altered the course of
history. (Drama)

"Flawless" (PG13)
In
swinging 1960s London, Laura Quinn is a bright, driven and beautiful
executive at the London Diamond Corporation who finds herself
frustrated by a glass ceiling after years of faithful employment, as
man after man is promoted ahead of her despite her greater experience.
Hobbs, the nighttime janitor at London Diamond who is virtually
invisible to the executives that work there, has amassed a startling
amount of knowledge about how the company runs over the years. Hobbs
has his own bone to pick with London Diamond. Observing Laura’s
frustration, he convinces her to help him execute an ingenious plan to
steal a thermos full of diamonds--not enough to be missed in the mighty
vault, but enough for Hobbs and Laura to live quite comfortable for the
rest of their lives. But of course, things don’t go as smoothly
as planned, and the two find themselves in the midst of an intense
investigation, led by the driven Detective Finch, who, despite an
instant chemistry with Laura, will stop at nothing to solve the crime.

to settle. Through these individuals, Elizabeth witnesses the

"Life
Before Her Eyes" (R)
The imaginative and wild Diana and her more staid best friend,
Maureen, find themselves prisoners in their own high school
when a senseless act of violence erupts within their sleepy
Connecticut suburb. Fifteen years later, the adult Diana is
still haunted by the unthinkable events they faced together.
The adult Diana has made a picture perfect life for herself.
Her husband Paul, whom she met in high school, is a professor
at the local college. Her daughter, Emma, is on the cusp of
young adulthood and is starting to show signs that she’s
inherited Diana’s wild streak. It was Diana’s wild streak that
brought Diana and Maureen together, and the memory of their
friendship torments the older Diana, especially as the 15-year
anniversary of the incident approaches. Diana finds her
current life falling apart--her husband is increasingly
absent, her daughter has taken to hiding from teachers, and
her own grip on reality is starting to falter. |
